Instructions

    • 1

Apply orange buff primer to the wood, using a paint brush. Let the primer dry for at least four hours. "Orange buff" is the name of a specific color, and you can have it made in most paint stores.

    • 2

Dip a clean paint brush into deep caramel brown glaze and lightly drag it across the wooden surface. Then, drag off most of the glaze by using a dry brush to remove the glaze, in a direction perpendicular to the way you applied the glaze originally. Pass the dry chip brush over the glaze again to remove any blotches on the glaze. Allow the glaze to dry overnight.

Apply another layer of glaze on the wooden surface. Use a mottler paint brush to apply the glaze. Snake the brush in a bouncing action to create the appearance of a grain on the wooden surface as you apply the glaze. Let the second layer of glaze dry overnight.

Apply a clear coat of satin polycrylic with the paint brush to protect the glaze finish. Let the clear coat dry overnight before using the table.
