Wash off any caked-on dirt or grime from the area where you will be working. Use a hose or a pressure washer to remove dirt particles from the house paint. Allow the area to dry completely before proceeding.
Put on safety equipment. Wear a pair of safety goggles, gloves, a long-sleeve shirt and a dust mask or respirator.
Brush or spray chemical paint stripper onto one section of the house. Allow the chemical stripper to soak the paint for a few hours or for the recommended amount of time on the product directions. The stripper will begin to make the paint bubble and peel off.
Peel or scrape the paint off in rows with a hand paint scraper. Use the scraper as you would use an ice scraper on a windshield. Do not dig down into the house's exterior; keep the scraper blade on the surface and push it forward to lift the peeling paint. Try to remove the paint in uniform rows.
Hose off the area with water to remove any loose debris from the peeling paint you scraped free.
Proceed to the next section of the house and repeat the removal steps.
