Wipe down the wall surface where the paint will be applied using a damp washcloth. Wipe the ceiling surface in a 1-inch thick area where painter’s tape will later be applied. This will help the tape adhere to the ceiling and prevent any bubbles where paint can leak in. Allow the wall and ceiling to dry.
Use painters tape to tape off the ceiling. Follow the edge of the tape along the edge where the ceiling and wall join together. Use small strips of painters tape at a time to prevent uneven lines and press the tape down firmly to make sure there are no bubbles.
Pour a small amount of paint into a paint tray or bucket. Lightly coat the pad of the edging tool and dab the edging tool lighting on a piece of cardboard to remove any excess.
Align the edging tool tip, which has small rollers to help the tool glide, against the ceiling and painters tape.
Drag the edging tool along the wall using a light pressure. Do not press down the edging tool using a heavy pressure because this can cause paint to seep from the pad and drip down the wall or get on the ceiling’s surface. Repeat the process for all of the edges between the wall and ceiling.
Dip a small, angled paint brush into paint and remove the excess by painting a few lines on a piece of cardboard. Use the angled brush to paint within the corners where the ceiling meets the wall and any small areas where the edging tool could not reach. Allow the paint to dry overnight.
Pull back the tape that separates the ceiling and wall with a gentle, slow motion to reveal edges.
