Instructions

    • 1

Select a stencil that suitably matches your cabinet's surroundings. For example, if your kitchen or bathroom is country-themed, select a stencil of wildflowers. Select one that is large enough to fit the center of the cabinet door. Tape its edges to the cabinet door to adhere it in place for ease.

    • 2

Plug the hand-held engraver into the nearest outlet and hold it in your dominant hand, which is the hand you use to write. Grasp the engraver firmly as if it were a thick pencil or marker. Apply the tip of the engraver within the outlined area of the stencil you have chosen.

    • 3

Use your thumb to switch the engraver to its "on" position. It will begin to vibrate in your hand steadily. Keep a firm grip on it, and press it into the surface of the cabinet door within the outline of the stencil.

    • 4

Follow the outline of the stencil without stopping. Complete the entire outline without stopping the engraver because frequent stops can cause noticeable changes in the texture of your engraving.

    • 5

Blow out the wood shavings from the finished stenciled outline. Polish the cabinet with a sponge dipped in coconut oil or your choice of wood furniture oil. This improves the look of your engraved cabinet doors.
