How to: Restore Liquid Armour Resurfacer

As it ages and weathers, wooden decking cracks, splinters and fades. Periodic sanding and repainting is required to maintain the decking and eventually boards must be replaced. Synta's Deck Restore coating provides a less expensive and time consuming alternative to decking refurbishing. Applied with a special roller in much the same way as paint, Deck Restore fills cracks, secures splinters and creates a non-slip surface as it is applied. The textured elastic surface created by Deck Restore is up to 10 times thicker than paint.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any rugs, barbecues and furniture present on the deck. Clean the deck thoroughly with a pressure washer and a 2:1 water to bleach ratio mix. Allow the surface to dry completely before continuing.

    • 2

Stain railings and other vertical surfaces first using a matching stain. Don't worry about drips.

    • 3

Pour the Deck Restore product into a disposable paint tray. Slide the included specialized roller onto the roller spindle, then run the roller back and forth a few times through the coating.

    • 4

Roll the product slowly onto the decking surface using mild pressure, until you have completely covered the surface. Roll perpendicular to the slats first, then parallel. Make sure you allow yourself a method of leaving the deck area without trampling the new finish.

    • 5

Apply the second coat in the same manner as the first after three to six hours.
