How to Fix a Shaky Fan With a Light

A shaky ceiling fan has the potential to become dangerous. It could be that some of the parts are coming loose, causing them to fall down, or causing wires to be exposed. Also, the shaking makes an annoying sound.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a yardstick to measure from the edge of the blade to the ceiling, so you can check the alignment. If one blade is a little off, bend it into place to create equal alignment with the other blades to the ceiling.

    • 2

Use the yardstick to measure the distance between each blade. If one blade is not the same distance as the rest, it could cause shaking. Push the blade back into place and double-check the distance again.

    • 3

Use a screwdriver to tighten anything that might be loose enough to cause shaking. Tighten the blades to the base, and tighten the base to the ceiling.
