Ramset Instructions

The Ramset is a device primarily used to fasten material to concrete, brick and steel. Fasteners are used instead of nails for these materials because the combined heat and pressure that is released when a Ramset is fired creates a stronger bond. A powder load containing natural gas is loaded into the combustion chamber. When the muzzle of the Ramset is depressed and the trigger is pulled, the corresponding spark ignites the powder load and drives the fastener into the material. Knowing how to use this device can expedite construction projects.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure that the Ramset is functioning properly by pushing the unloaded muzzle downward against the work surface and pull the trigger. A click should be heard.

    • 2

Position the muzzle of the device safely away from you and others. Move the barrel forward to reset the piston so that a fastener can be inserted.

    • 3

Insert a fastener into the front end of the muzzle. The point of the fastener should be facing outward.

    • 4

Place the powder load into the chamber. Pull the barrel back until the chamber is in a semiclosed position.

    • 5

Firmly put the muzzle against the surface to be fastened and pull the trigger.

    • 6

Reload the device by pointing the tool away from yourself or others, sliding the barrel forward to remove the fired load and reset the piston, putting a new fastener into the front end of the muzzle.
