Moisten a cloth with mineral spirits and wipe down the scratched area. This will wipe off the dust from sanding.
Scoop out a wad of wood filler with your putty knife and press it into the scratches. Wipe off the excess with the edge of the putty knife. Allow it to set for two hours and then sand off the excess with 220-grit sandpaper. Wipe away the dust again with your cloth soaked in mineral spirits.
Dip a 3-inch nylon brush in the tint of wood sealer that matches your floor and cover the scratched area with a light coat.
