How to Install a Mas 50 Lock

The Mas company produces many types of door handles and locks you can install in your home or office for extra security. The Mas 50 lock is part of the G50 model door handle and is designed for use with large exterior doors. Once you have the G50 handle installed, adding the Mas 50 lock requires drilling holes for the mounting equipment and then securing the lock to the door.

Instructions

    • 1

Close the door fully, using the Mas G50 handle you have just installed. Make sure the handle is in the closed position and is level. Place the template for the lock onto the inside of the door, lining up the locking pin on the handle with the location marked on the template. Use the tape to keep the template in place.

    • 2

Place the lock over the marked location on the template. Turn the handle from the outside to make sure the internal pieces do not hit the lock body and become stuck. If this occurs, adjust the template to a location where the handle parts can clear the lock.

    • 3

Use the center punch to create holes in the four locations marked on the template. Then remove the template from the door. Attach a 10mm drill bit to your drill, and finish the holes from the outside of the door. Place the lock body back over the holes, insert the mounting bolts through the lock body's and door's aligned holes, and secure them in place with the locking washers.

Place the lock body gasket over the bolts on the outside of the door, to hold them in place and cover the end of the bolts. Hand tighten the washers to complete the installation.
