Turbine Meter Installation

Turbine meters monitor different natural resources as they flow in and out of your home. In particular, they measure energy and water. Good turbine meters provide high accuracy and repeatable measurements under extreme or high pressure conditions. You can install a water turbine meter using a fairly simple process.

Instructions

    • 1

Flush the plumbing repeatedly or turn-off all power running into the house to reduce the possibility of external materials entering the meter.

    • 2

Turn the power or water back on and apply a constant pressure or level of power. This will standardize your measurements.

    • 3

Screw in a valve between the power source and the meter location. The best choice is a Carlon slow-closing solenoid valve that helps to reduce the wear and tear on the meter.

    • 4

Screw in the the meter above the main power or water unit. Apply it horizontally with the register facing up and the inlet port directed at the supply line. The meter is made to handle a constant flow that is about one half the maximum possible.
