Remove everything from the counter. Clear out any objects on the floor that may hinder your working on the counter. Connect the water hose that came with the electric hand polisher to a faucet, using its adapter. Put on an apron, gloves, a dust mask and eye protection.
Place a 50-grit disk on the electric hand polisher. Turn on the water supply. Pass over the surface of the counter, keeping the surface wet as you polish. Go over the entire surface two or three times.
Wipe down the surface with a soft rag to remove the grit, rinsing it often. Rinse the surface between every disk change to remove the grit. Change to a higher grit disk after going over counter two or three times with the previous one.
Change the disk to the next finer disk, the 100-grit disk. Continue the same procedure, applying only a little pressure to the polisher, just letting the disks polish the quartz surface. Work your way through all the disks from the 50- through the 800-grit disk.
Wet the 1,500-grit disk in the disk set and polish the countertop once again. But allow the surface to dry before turning on the water supply. Wet the disk and continue, letting the surface dry out each time until you have gone over the counter two or three times, just as with the other disks. Rinse the counter and repeat for the 3,000-grit disk in the disk set.
Rinse the countertop and polish dry with a soft cloth.
