How to Fix a Crack in a Corian Countertop

Cracks ruin the finish of your Corian countertop. A crack can also allow water and other liquids an entry point in which to weather away at the interior of the counter and damage the plywood and cabinetry underneath. Cracks can be repaired with a joint sealant that is compatible for Corian countertops. These sealants come in a variety of colors; select the color that most closely resembles your countertop.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the crack in the Corian countertop using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.

    • 2

Sand down the crack using a piece of super fine-grit sandpaper. Sand down just the crack, not the areas surrounding it.

    • 3

Mix the contents of the epoxy seam or joint sealant according to manufacturer's directions.

    • 4

Apply the epoxy seam or joint sealant to the crack in the countertop using the provided applicator. Smooth the sealer into the crack and wipe away any excess.

    • 5

Sand the dried epoxy sealant with a super fine-grit piece of sandpaper until the area is smooth.

    • 6

Apply the clear coat over the dried, smoothed epoxy. Allow it to dry.

    • 7

Wipe the counter with a damp cloth.
