How to Adjust Euro Corner Cabinet Hinges

European-style cabinet hinges are designed so that they don’t show on the outside of the cabinet door, unlike the standard pin-type hinges. A big advantage over pin-type hinges is that Euro corner cabinet hinges are easily readjusted if cabinet doors become out of whack. Pin-type hinges must be uninstalled and reinstalled to adjust them. For Euro hinges, you make all the adjustments with a screwdriver on the part of the hinge that is attached to the inside of the cabinet wall, not the part mounted on the door, which must be installed in a drilled-out hole.

  Adjust the screw that is at the back of the hinge if the face of the cabinet door is not on the same plane as the others. Loosening this screw lets you either pull the door away from or push it toward the cabinet facing to make it flush with the faces of the other cabinet doors. Adjust the door and tighten the screw when it is in the position you want. This is the adjustment that is most commonly needed because the back screw works loose over time.

  Loosen the screw closest to the front of the cabinet if the top of the door is not parallel to the top of the cabinet facing. Adjust the door and tighten the screw again to hold it in place.

  Unscrew the one or two middle screws to raise or lower the door so that it’s in line with the other doors. Move the back part of the hinge up or down to adjust the door. Tighten the screws again.
