Measure the width and length of your doorframe and purchase a door that fits it perfectly. You can either by a large piece of lumber and cut it yourself with an electric saw or purchase pre-cut pieces in accordance with your measurements.

Remove the old door from the pantry. If it’s a hinged door, loosen the screws from the hinge and lift the door from the wall. If it’s a sliding door, remove the door from the sliding tract by pulling up on the panel to lift it off the track. You may have to shimmy it up, especially if it has wheels.

Screw the hardware into the new door. Measure the side of the hinged door for the area the hinges need to be installed. Mark the spot with a pencil and place the hinge over the door. Drill the screws into the hinge. For the sliding door, place the hardware on the top far left and far right of the door and drill it in place. Repeat for the bottom of the sliding door.

Fit the door into the frame. Hold the hinged door up to the frame and screw the hinges into the holes. Fit the sliding door onto the tract by placing the top portion into the top track and then the bottom. The sliding hardware should snap into the tract on the top and bottom of the door and move back and forth smoothly.
