Set up the ladder near the place where the paint is peeling. Climb up until you reach a level where it will be comfortable to work. Break off the peeling paint to remove it from the surface. Cut off half a sheet of sandpaper.
Place the sandpaper at the base of the peel mark. Slowly start rubbing the area and move all around the peel mark. Continue to rub until the area is even and smooth and the paint is flush with the wall or ceiling.
Shake the can of touch-up paint. Open the lid carefully so as not to spill any paint. Dip the small brush into the can. Dab the brush on the side of the can to blot. Paint the area using light pressure, making all the strokes in the same direction, until the area is covered.
Shake the can of paint and remove the lid carefully to avoid spilling paint. Dip the brush into the can. Blot the brush on the side of the can's rim.
Lightly paint the chip or crack in one brushstroke. Examine the new paint and allow it to dry for several minutes. Compare the new paint to the old paint of the wall or ceiling and determine if you need to apply another coat.
Apply extra coats as needed. Allow the paint to dry.
