Cover walls that do not have black mold on them with plastic sheeting. Tape the sheets in place to keep them from getting contaminated. Do the same for flooring, the ceiling and any opening to the house.
Open a window if there is one. Put on eye protection, gloves and a ventilation mask.
Fill a garden sprayer with water and adjust the nozzle to a fine mist. Spray the walls where the mold is. The reason is to dampen the area so the spores do not get into the air. This might not keep them all from becoming airborne, but will help considerably.
Pull out insulation that has mold on it. Put it in a garbage bag and remove it from the room.
Mix up a solution of bleach and water. Normally one part bleach to nine parts water is fine for killing mold. Since this is toxic mold, a stronger solution of four parts bleach to six parts water will better ensure that it is all killed. Fill a garden sprayer with the solution.
Spray the the molded area with the garden sprayer filled with the bleach solution. Let the bleach solution soak in well and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Spray a second coating and scrub the walls thoroughly.
Use a wet vac to suck up the solution as it runs to the floor. Continue to spray and scrub until you have cleaned the entire area.
Pull off the plastic and put it in garbage bags for disposal. Fold the plastic in on itself to ensure spores do not spill.
Set up fans in the attic to help dry it out. Dry it out completely before putting up new insulation.
