Instructions

    • 1

Move furniture out of the room to prevent paint chips from falling on the pieces. Cover the floor with dropcloths to contain the mess you make with paint chips and dust.

    • 2

Stand on a stepladder to closely examine the ceiling. Reach up to the ceiling surface with the putty knife and gently scrape away all chipping paint from the ceiling with the putty knife blade. Continue working until you remove all loose paint chips from the ceiling.

    • 3

Sand the entire ceiling with sandpaper to remove as much loose paint as possible. Rub the sandpaper gently over the entire ceiling to smooth it thoroughly.

    • 4

Vacuum the ceiling with the vacuum cleaner’s brush attachment. Wipe the entire ceiling area thoroughly to remove all paint dust and particles from the ceiling.
