How to Install Santec Lear Faucets

Santec Lear faucets install in a similar way as other faucets, with the spout and handles mounting directly to the counter top or sink. The Santec Lear faucets also connect to the supply lines in exactly the same way as other brands. This project involves common skills and a little knowledge of plumbing fixtures. Give yourself about an hour to complete the installation, and have everything ready before you begin to allow for a smooth install from start to finish.

Instructions

Take the hardware off the base of the faucet spout. This includes the tee connector, lock nut and washer. Run a bead of silicone around the edge of the sink or counter top hole. Insert the spout into the sink or counter top spout hole with the threaded shaft going into the hole.

    • 2

Slide all of the hardware you removed in the first step, except for the tee connector, back onto the threaded shaft from beneath the counter top. Tighten the lock nut by hand, first. If your faucet has a lifting rod, slide it through the backside of the faucet spout. Fully tighten the nut with the plumber's pliers. Slip the tee connector onto the shaft and tighten the connector.

    • 3

Unscrew the lock nut from the threaded shaft of the handles. Insert handles into the counter top or sink holes. Place the washer on the shaft. Thread on the lock nut and tighten it by hand. Align the trim with the hot and cold markings on either side of the handles. Align the handles so they point sideways. Tighten the nut with pliers to secure the handles in place.

Connect both supply hoses to the tee connector on the faucet shaft and tighten the connectors with a wrench. Run the inlet hoses to the water supply lines and tighten the connectors with a wrench. Turn the water on and test the faucet. If it leaks, re-tighten the connectors with your wrench.
