How to Change the Code on a Genie Keypad

Genie Intellicode wireless keypad users can program two permanent Personal Identification Number codes and one temporary code for security purposes. Each code is up to eight numbers in length. Typically, a person changes a PIN code to rotate the code for security reasons or because the keypad has malfunctioned, necessitating a complete keypad reset and personal PIN code re-entry. Whichever the case, changing a PIN code simply requires that you know the key entry sequence for the PIN type.

Instructions

Slide up the cover protecting your Genie wireless keypad.

    • 2

Enter your first or second PIN code number, known as PIN 1 or PIN 2, and then push the “Prog” key. If you successfully activate the keypad’s programming mode, the LED starts blinking.
