High-Output LED Flashlights

For many years, regular flashlights, with an incandescent bulb, were the only choice. LED bulbs were designed, and then finally high-output LED bulbs became available. High-output LED flashlights have quite a few benefits over the old regular-type flashlight, particularly when it comes to needing a high level of illumination for a work area.
  1. Illumination

    • High-output LED bulbs are designed to provide a higher level of illumination than a traditional flashlight. Instead of the one incandescent bulb, this type of flashlight will have numerous LEDs. This provides a highly focused beam of light that is much brighter. High-output LED flashlights will produce a light that is whitish blue, unlike a traditional flashlight, which has a beam that is slightly yellow in color. This difference also helps illuminate areas more efficiently.

    Life of Bulbs

    • LED bulbs last much longer than the traditional incandescent type of bulb. You can expect to get at least a thousand hours of light from one of these flashlights, depending on the quality of the bulbs used. Some high-output LED flashlights will have a lifespan of more than 100,000 hours. When compared to a traditional flashlight bulb that will last for a few hundred hours, the lifespan is much longer and provides more savings over time without having to replace the bulbs.

    Dependability

    • Incandescent bulbs are fragile and the element inside can easily break, causing the bulb to stop working. They are just like regular lightbulbs and if the flashlight is dropped, the element may break. LED bulbs are designed to be more durable and do not have these elements. That means you can literally drop and manhandle the flashlight without worrying about the bulbs breaking. While they may not be totally indestructible, LED lights are much more durable than incandescent bulbs.

    Difference With Regular LED Bulbs

    • High-output LED bulbs are slightly different than regular LED bulbs, although they are similar in shape and design. Each light is designed to provide a higher level of illumination than a standard LED. In addition, high-output flashlights will typically have more bulbs than a regular LED flashlight to provide a higher concentrated beam of light. The lifespan of high-output LEDs is also slightly longer than a traditional LED bulb.
