How to Clamp a B Vent to Water Heaters

B-vent duct is a double vent pipe and is found commonly on low heat applications such as water heaters. Building codes vary for each jurisdiction concerning specific requirements for each application. Most B-vent pipe simply pushes together with the next piece and use clamps to help keep the pieces together. Although clamping a B-vent to your water heater is usually not necessary, it uses the same B-vent clamp that the rest of the pipe uses. The clamps are 4-inches wide and come flat. It is necessary to fold the clamp around the pipe by hand.
