DSC Wireless Window Contact Installation

Wireless window contacts, which are small, plastic, rectangular motion sensors physically affixed to windows, are an integral part of any home security system. When correctly installed, wireless window contacts detect when a window is opened or closed to alert homeowners of a possible burglary. If you use these wireless contacts as part of your home security, you will occasionally need to replace them when they go out. If you plan to install wireless sensors manufactured by DSC, installation can be completed in a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the activation pull tab to activate the sensor's battery. DSC wireless sensors use a pre-installed battery that is activated by pulling the pull tab on the sensor itself.

    • 2

Mount the sensor onto the surface of the window using the double-sided tape provided with the sensor. The sensor should be placed at the bottom of the window as close to the window sill as possible.

    • 3

Test the sensor by opening the window to see whether your alarm system recognizes that the window has been opened. If it does, you have successfully installed the DSC wireless window sensor. If the alarm does not recognize the open window, you might need to contact a DSC product support worker to verify the installation.
