Turn the water connected to the toilet off by turning the small knob behind the toilet tank clockwise.
Drain the toilet tank by hitting the flush lever after you have shut off the water.
Absorb all excess moisture with towels.
Blow the inside of the tank completely dry using a blow dryer. If you wish, you can allow the tank to air dry, but it may take hours. Make sure the tank is completely dry before proceeding to the next step.
Put on safety glasses and rubber gloves. Apply a line of waterproof silicone plumbing epoxy over the crack, starting 1/2 inch before the crack and ending 1/2 inch beyond it.
Slather the waterproof silicone plumbing epoxy smoothly over the crack, using a putty knife.
Allow the waterproof silicone plumbing epoxy to set for 24 hours.
Turn the water to the toilet back on and allow the tank to refill.
