  Unroll your Ethernet cord. It must be long enough to connect from the computer to the router.

  Plug one end of the Ethernet cord into the back of the router.

  Plug the other end of the Ethernet cord into the matching slot for the cord end in the back of the computer. Sometimes this slot is located on the computer tower.

  Confirm that an Internet connection has been made by using your web browser. Restart your computer if the Internet connection does not begin.
