How to Install Vanity Splash Pans

Splash pans, or splash guards, prevent water from running off the side of your tub or shower floor and damaging your walls or floor. The splash guard installs along the corners of your tub, shower or sink and blocks the water from running down along the wall. The guards are especially helpful to your home if you have small children who spend a lot of time splashing around in the bathtub. The installation process takes a few minutes and you can remove the splash guard at any time.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the surface area where you are installing the splash guards with warm, soapy water.

    • 2

Dry the area with a lint-free towel.

    • 3

Set the splash guard track up against the wall and the top of the tub or shower floor. Depending on the track, you may need to fold it to form a 90-degree angle or it may already be folded. Move it around until you have it in the desired location. The splash guard installs at a 90-degree angle against your wall and the surface. Make a mark on the wall where it will sit.

    • 4

Peel off the sticker that covers the adhesive strip on the track.

    • 5

Place the splash guard track against the mark you made on the wall and the top of the tub or shower floor.

    • 6

Push the track against the wall and down against the surface to ensure a tight connection.

    • 7

Slide the splash guard into place into the track until it clicks into place.

    • 8

Wet your finger and apply a small amount of silicone caulking to your finger.

    • 9

Rub the silicone along the edges of the splash guard connections.

    • 10

Repeat for the other side of the tub or shower floor.

    • 11

Allow the silicone to dry for at least 24 hours before using the tub or shower.
