How to Install a Kohler Sink Valve Kit

Your Kohler faucet has a valve that controls the water flowing to the sink. This valve, which is inside the handle, is part of a kit that includes several other parts on some faucets. This kit is available through Kohler or a plumbing supply outlet. If your faucet leaks, installing this kit inside the faucet requires only about 10 minutes and some simple tools.

Things You'll Need

  • Small flat head screwdriver
  • Allen wrench

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water supply to the faucet by shutting both valves on the water pipes under the sink.

    • 2

Pry the cap from the top of the faucet handle with a flat head screwdriver and remove the screw under the cap with an Allen wrench. If the handle has no cap, look for the screw on the side of the handle and unscrew it with the Allen wrench.

    • 3

Turn the bonnet, the dome-shaped nut located under the handle, counterclockwise and take it off the faucet. Remove the adapter by unscrewing the adapter screw with the screwdriver and take off the washer.

    • 4

Slide the valve out of the faucet body and replace it with the new valve.

    • 5

Replace the washer and adapter, and tighten the screw. Screw the bonnet back onto the faucet by turning it clockwise. Slide the handle on and tighten the handle screw clockwise with the Allen wrench.
