Turn off the power to your heating system and turn off the circuit breaker that controls your heating system power line if possible. Disconnect the electrical wires from the contacts at the back of the Honeywell V8043E1061 valve.
Slide the switch at the front of the valve housing all the way to the right so that the indicator points to the to the "Man. open" position. Press the locking button under the switch down and lift the worn actuator straight up off of the valve.
Turn the "double-D" shaped main shaft of the valve so that the flat surfaces of the shaft (the straight parts of the "D" shapes) are parallel with the notch on the side of the valve that faces you.
Set the sliding lever on the replacement actuator to the "Man. open" position all the way to the right.
Position the actuator motor coupling at the bottom of the actuator onto the main valve shaft so that its motor coupling lines up exactly with the flat surfaces of the main shaft. Fit the actuator onto the body of the valve so that it seats correctly and so that it engages the notch on the side of the valve body.
Press down on the actuator housing to snap it into place. Reconnect the wiring and set the front control lever to "Auto." You can now turn your heating system power back on.
