How to Change Max Connections to Vents

Increasing the max connections for a vent can be done by installing a dual vent kit. A dual vent kit will allow you to run more than one vent pipe from your heater or furnace. This kit includes an adapter that can accept to vent connections. This allows you to increase the amount of venting if you only have one vent pipe location that is available.

Phillips-head screwdriver
Teflon tape
Power drill

Instructions

  Remove the screws on the side of the vent adapter box with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Set the support angle brackets on each side of the adapter box. Secure the brackets with the screws.

  Place the 4-inch vent terminal pipe over the collar on the top of the adapter box. Attach this piping onto the collar by using the provided screws. Seal the joints of the pipe with Teflon tape.

  Slide the 6-inch terminal pipe over the top of the 4-inch pipe. Attach this pipe to the outer collar on the adapter box with the provided screws.

  Set the adapter box in place on the ceiling where you want to run the vent pipe. Secure the adapter box to the ceiling by driving screws into the mounting holes in the support angle brackets with the power drill.
