Cut a 3-inch hole into the wall a few inches from where you will mount the indoor wall unit. Look inside the hole to ensure you will not be cutting into any wiring and pipes as you make the same size hole through the siding.
Secure the indoor wall unit plate bracket against the wall by securing the screws with the Phillips screwdriver. Place the bracket 4 inches down the wall from the ceiling.
Have the technician install the wiring and a separate circuit breaker for the indoor wall mounted unit. Thread the drain line and insulated copper wiring through the hole to the outdoor compressor unit.
Place the outdoor compressor unit on a cement base that is less than 25 feet away. Pull enough of the drain pipe and copper wire to connect to the outdoor unit.
Apply spray foam insulation around the wires and drain pipe line to seal the hole. This provides waterproofing to your home so no leaks can enter. Have the HVAC technician connect the wires and vacuum the lines.
Group the outdoor wires and drain line together. Secure with a wall clamp against the siding.
