How to Know if My Buck Stove Is Leaking Smoke?

Buck Stove is a company that makes a range of different home heating solutions. The company makes coal and wood stoves. Some of the stoves are fireplace-style heating setups. Others are standalone stoves connected to a central HVAC duct system for whole home heating. If there is a leak in the system, this can reduce the efficiency of the heating system. Smoke can also cause breathing problems and damage to painted walls and fabrics in the home.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the stove or light the stove according to the manual for your specific Buck stove model.

    • 2

Wait a few minutes for the fire to grow. Carefully watch for any smoke. If the smoke appears to be coming back out of the stove opening, adjust the damper. This will allow smoke to flow out the exhaust flue.

    • 3

Allow the stove system to continue to run. If your Buck stove is connected to a central duct system, open all the vents in the rooms of your home. Carefully inspect the vents for smoke coming out.

    • 4

Smell around the stove and vents for smoke fumes.
