Maintenance Instructions for a Cummins Bryan Steam Boiler

The Cummins Bryan steam boiler is a commercial-grade boiler often installed in newer construction or buildings as a temporary heating system. Note the Cummins Bryan boiler should only be operated and maintained by adults familiar with large equipment such as a boiler feed system. Improper use or care of the boiler system can present a serious hazard to those who are operating the system or are in the building. Regular maintenance is crucial to help ensure the safety and operation of the boiler.

Instructions

    • 1

Examine the Cummins Bryan boiler system daily to record the current reading on all gauges, indicators and monitors on the unit.

    • 2

Check the boiler room every week for any obstructions or combustible materials and clean as necessary.

    • 3

Inspect the fuses connected to the boiler system, and make sure none of the fuses has blown. Replace the fuse as needed.

    • 4

Look at the low water control or probe if one was installed with the boiler to make sure the water level has not fallen below the specified level and the alarm is set to go off if the water level does fall below the set level.

    • 5

Inspect the wiring and all boiler components monthly and look at the strainers on the pump. Contact Cummins Bryan for a cleaning if the strainers seem clogged or dirty.
