Locate the user's manual to your gas boiler and find the labeled diagram of the system. You will need this to find and identify various parts that may be leaking.
Look for the most obvious sign of leakage: water. If water is pooled around your boiler or dripping from any part of it, try to trace the water back to its source and use the manual to identify the leaky part.
Look for more subtle signs if water is not visible. In many cases, boilers operate at such a high temperature that leaking water evaporates before it can reach noticeable levels. Signs to look for include rust, built-up corrosion, water stains and mineral deposits of various colors, though most commonly white and green.
Look, but do not touch when you find a leak. A small leak can be made worse by accidentally breaking through a part of your boiler that has rusted thin. In many cases, mineral deposits may be holding back a serious leak, and chipping them away can release the water.
Once you have identified the leak, contact a certified technician who can advise you and help you replace or repair the leaky part.
