How to Install a Collar on a Metalbestos Chimney

A Metalbestos chimney is a brand of insulated, double-walled pipe that takes the place of a stone, brick or masonry chimney. The metal pipe is insulated so it can be installed through walls and roofs without creating a fire hazard. The collar is installed on top of the roof where the chimney protrudes. The collar helps to stabilize the chimney and also diverts water away from the chimney base to reduce the risk of leaks.
