How to Adjust the Draft on an Oil-Fired Heater

The draft adjustment on an oil -fired heater regulates the flow of combustion air. The damper widens the space inside the heater chamber so oxygen reaches the burning oil. Proper adjustment helps the oil heater operate at peak efficiency. Scale markings on the side of the draft adjustment knob serve as a guide to setting the damper.
