Instructions

    • 1

Gently push on the temperature setting indicator until it shows the same reading as the thermometer on the thermostat.

    • 2

      Remove the thermostat cover.

    • 3

Slip the calibration wrench under the heating coil and around the hex nut beneath the coil. The heating coil is the spiral-shaped strip of metal set to one side of the thermostat.

Place a finger on the setting switch to prevent it from moving during adjustments. Turn the wrench clockwise slowly until the heating switch inside nudges away from the thermometer.

    • 5

Replace the cover. Move the setting indicator to a low temperature setting. Wait 10 minutes for the cooling system to come on and stabilize the temperature.

    • 6

Remove the thermostat cover. Insert the calibration wrench underneath the heating coil. Steady the setting lever with your finger.

    • 7

Turn the wrench slowly to the right until the mercury inside the tube inches just to the left side of the indicator bar on the tube. Replace the thermostat cover.
