How to Remove Glass Scratch Marks

Although glass is a fairly strong material, it can be scratched easily. Scratches take away from the beauty of glass, and can make it hard to see through. Deep scratches need the services of a professional, but you can remove light scratches yourself with a few materials, and a lot of elbow grease.

Things You'll Need

  • Jeweler's rouge or polishing rouge powder

Instructions

    • 1

Measure 1 ounce of jeweler's rouge powder, 1 ounce of glycerin, and 1 ounce of water into a container. Mix the ingredients well with a stir stick to form a paste.

    • 2

Dab a small amount of the paste onto a clean cloth. Rub the paste in circular motions over the scratches on the glass. Add a little more jeweler's rouge paste to the cloth as needed.

    • 3

Wet a clean cloth with water. Wash the paste off the glass from time to time to check the results. Continue to work on the scratches until they are completely gone.
