My Bosch Nexxt Door Is Stuck

Built with precision German engineering, Bosch Nexxt washing machines are energy-efficient, water-saving laundry appliances. However, with wear and tear, the washing machine door can malfunction. It is most annoying when your Bosch washing machine door refuses to open. If your machine door is stuck or jammed after completing a wash cycle, the water pump might be to blame.
  1. Water Pump

    • Bosch washing machines are equipped with safety features that will not allow the door to open if the wash water has not completely drained. If the washing machine is retaining water, the pump might be blocked or faulty.

    Manually Draining the Machine

    • To extract the wash load while water remains in the machine, remove the small trap door at the bottom, left-hand side of the machine. Place a pan under the open flap to catch the wash water. Slowly unscrew the filter, allowing just a small amount of water to drain out at a time. Empty the catch pan and repeat until no more water drips out. Once the machine is completely empty, turn on the machine. You should now be able to open the door.

    Replacement Parts

    • If your Bosch Nexxt washing machine door will still not open, the door handle or hinge might be bent or broken. Examine the door seal. An effective seal is firm, resilient and without signs of visible wear. A cracked, torn or worn seal might catch on the door latch and cause the door to stick. Replacement handles, hinges, seals and parts can be bought online or from a Bosch appliance dealer.

    Drains and Filters

    • Routinely clean all filters and drains. Lint, twigs or other small foreign objects can jam the pump or block the drain. Examine the drain and lines for signs of calcium and lime deposits that can build up and impede water flow.
