How to Get Tile Out of the Corner With a MultiMaster

Tile's durability makes it a common choice for both floors and counter tops. Unfortunately, that same durability that makes tile so desirable also makes it difficult to remove. Should one of your tiles break, you must remove it and the surrounding grout in order to replace it. Regardless of whether you are replacing a damaged tile or removing all of them as part of a larger remodeling project, the Fein MultiMaster's versatile blades can help you cut through grout and dislodge stubborn corner tiles

Instructions

    • 1

Put on a long-sleeved shirt, work gloves and protective eyewear. Tile shards are sharp so take the proper precautions to avoid flying debris.

    • 2

Attach a diamond- or carbide-tipped cutting blade to the Fein MultiMaster tool.

    • 3

Power on the MultiMaster. Move the cutting blade slowly back and forth in the grout surrounding the corner tile. This cuts through the tough grout and exposes the corner tile.

    • 4

Turn off the MultiMaster tool and remove the cutting blade. Attach a flat scraper blade to the MultiMaster.

    • 5

Power on the MultiMaster. Push the tip of the flat scraper blade underneath the corner tile. Move the scraper blade back and forth beneath the corner tile until the tile pops free.
