Remove the screws that attach the piano hinge to the side of the metal frame. Use an electric drill with a driver bit installed.
Place the smaller end of a flat pry bar under the door hinge and use it to adjust the hinge until the door opens and shuts properly. Have someone hold the pry bar in place once you have the correct adjustment.
Drill holes through the existing holes in the hinge and into the frame underneath using an electric drill with an 1/8-inch metal drill bit installed.
Secure the hinge with 1-1/2-inch metal screws using the electric drill with a driver bit installed. The longer screws will anchor deeper into the frame than the shorter one-inch screws that were previously used in most cases.
