How to Drill Holes in a Karran Under-Mount Sink

Some Karran under-mount sinks come with pre-drilled faucet holes while others do not. Those that don't are not wide enough to interfere with the faucet components and don't require that the faucet hoses be threaded through the sink. Instead, the hoses should be threaded through just the countertop. For those sinks that don't have enough holes to accommodate, for example, a built-in soap dispenser, you can cut a hole directly into the under-mount sink or through the countertop.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the template over the sink and surrounding countertop. Position the template so it is aligned with the outline of the sink then tape the template in place. If there is no template, tape a large piece of tracing paper over the Karran sink and surrounding counter if applicable. Draw a circle or mark the area where you want to drill the hole(s).

    • 2

Drill a starter hole through the mark on the template, through the counter, if applicable, then into the sink with a drill equipped with a 3/8-inch bit.

    • 3

Complete the cut, following the outline in the template with a saber saw. Repeat the steps to cut any additional holes.

    • 4

Sand the inside of the holes with fine-grit sandpaper to blend in the areas with the existing surface.
