Repairing a Leak in a Kohler Shower Door

Kohler manufactures various kitchen and bathroom fixtures, including shower doors, which can begin to leak over time. Leaks are usually caused by damage to the sealant at the bottom of the shower door. If left unchecked, a leaky shower door can cause flooding and molding. You can fix a leaky Kohler door yourself in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Place masking tape over the drain to prevent errant sealant from clogging it.

    • 2

Insert the tip of your putty knife in the sealant at the bottom of the shower door, where it attaches to the shower pan.

    • 3

Work your way around the base of the shower door, removing the caulking sealant as you go. Discard the old caulking sealant.

    • 4

Apply a line of silicone caulk at the base of the shower door, using the caulking gun to cover the length of the bottom of the door.

    • 5

Wait overnight for the caulk to dry.
