Installation Instructions for a Kohler Sterling Shower Wall

A Kohler Sterling shower wall installs on your shower wall framing with minimal preparation. All you need are a few basic tools and some construction skills. It is important to note that the shower walls install with a Sterling shower pan. They have an interlocking design to prevent water leakage between the pan and shower walls. So, be sure to perform this installation after the shower pan is mounted in place.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the back wall of the shower into place and fit the tabs along its base into the slotted holes in the top of the shower pan.

    • 2

Measure the location of the shower faucet and shower head pipe with a tape measure. Mark this measurement on the side wall panel and cut the appropriate holes in the panel with a hole saw.

    • 3

Fit the side panel over the faucet and shower pipe. Interlock the side pins on the side wall, with the hook tabs on the side of the end wall. Slide the bottom of the side panel tabs into the slotted holes in the shower pan.

Drive wood screws through the mounting holes and into the wall framing boards with a power screwdriver. Start along the sides and finish along the top of the panels--there are mounting holes on both.

Measure, cut and mount water-resistant drywall to the framing around the shower walls with drywall screws and a screwdriver. Seal the seams between the shower walls and drywall with silicone sealant and allow 24 hours of drying time.
