Turn the gas valve knob on propane tank’s top clockwise with your hand until it stops. Open the Char-Broil grill lid and turn on one burner control knob. This lets the excess gas in the line dissipate. Turn off the control knob once you no longer hear gas leaving the burner tube.
Disconnect the gas regulator line from the propane tank. Turn the connector counterclockwise with your hand. Turn the connector on the opposite end of the line where it connects to the grill counterclockwise with a wrench. Remove the regulator hose and the propane tank from the grill.
Pull the cooking grates out of the grill and set them aside. Lift out the silver-colored heat tents if your grill uses tents over the burners. If you have lava rocks, lift them out of the grill.
Remove the screws securing each burner tube’s rear to the grill’s interior with a Phillips screwdriver. Lift the each tube’s rear of up and pull the tube’s front away from the grill’s inside front. Pull all of the burner tubes out of the grill.
Find the nuts and bolts securing the Char-Broil grill body to the grill stand. The bolt heads are on the inside ends with the nuts underneath the frame. Remove the securing nuts and bolt with a wrench and screwdriver. Lift the grill body out of the stand.
Remove the nuts and bolts securing the grill stand sides to the stand’s bottom with the wrench and screwdriver.
