How to Hard Wire Delta Touch Faucets

Some Delta faucets use Touch2O technology, which requires hard wiring the faucet once you install it in the sink. These faucets operate with a touch to the spout or handle. Most of the wires come secured to the faucet or solenoid from the factory. However to complete the installation, it is necessary to make hard wire connections between the solenoid and the faucet. All connections are made under the sink, and little space is required for the power source.

Instructions

    • 1

Flip down the swing clip at the top of the Delta solenoid. The swing clip resembles half of a sleeve collar fitting. Slip the port that the swing clip connects to over the center faucet stem. Push up until the solenoid stops and raise the swing clip up, snapping it around the faucet stem. Pull down on the solenoid slightly to ensure a good connection.

    • 2

Grab the end of the sprayer hose connection in one hand. Push up on the collar over the port on the bottom of the solenoid with your other hand. Insert the end of the sprayer hose into the solenoid port and release the collar. Install a locking clip over the hose and port connection. The locking clip looks similar to the swing clip, except it is a separate part. It snaps over the solenoid port and end of the sprayer hose.

    • 3

Unroll the top wire on the side of the solenoid with the C-clip connector on the opposite end. Touch the cold water house pipe with your hands to eliminate any static charge. Push the C-clip connector over the metal center faucet shank threads until it locks into place.

    • 4

Pull down the wire that is on the right side of the faucet shank. Pull the plastic protective cap off the end of the wire. Insert the end of the wire into the bottom port on the left side of the solenoid. Avoid twisting the wire around the previously installed wire.

    • 5

Install six AA batteries into the black battery box. The proper direction of the batteries is stamped inside the black battery box. Unroll the wire at the bottom of the solenoid that has a connector that resembles a 9-volt battery connector.

    • 6

Place the black battery box on a shelf or the floor of the sink cabinet where it will not be disturbed. Connect the end of the bottom solenoid wire to the terminals on the battery box. The Delta faucet hard wiring is complete.
