How to Make it Easier to Move a Heavy Steam Shower

Get as much help as possible before attempting to move a steam shower. While wheels, straps and rollers are all very useful, nothing beats a good pair of hands attached to a strong person. Having a lot of help will make the job both easier and safer. Plan ahead and move furniture that might interfere with the path of the shower as you move it. Be sure that everyone who is helping you understands the plan before you begin moving the shower.

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the shower in moving blankets and strap them on so they don't slip off. This will decrease the risk of damaging the shower in transit

    • 2

Tilt the shower slightly back, just enough to get the lip of a hand cart underneath it. Slide the hand cart all the way in until it is pressed against the side of the shower.

    • 3

Tilt the shower toward the handcart slowly and carefully. With helpers supporting the shower and keeping it from tilting to far in one direction or the other, begin rolling it. Keep the center of gravity of the shower directly over the wheels.
