Try a new battery if the phone fails to turn on. Close the phone's flip screen and place it upside down on your work surface. Slide the battery release button on the back of the phone downward and place the old battery to one side. Snap a new battery into place and try the phone again after connecting the charger. Batteries like those used in the V205 lose their ability to hold a charge over time and sometimes fail completely.
Confirm the antenna sticking out the top of the phone is firmly screwed in place. A loose aerial connection could cause the phone to lose reception, drop calls or fail to send text messages. Seek out a replacement online if the antenna is damaged or missing.
Remove the back of the phone as outlined in Step 1 and confirm that the Subscriber Identity Module, or SIM card, is seated properly in its holder. The cutaway corner of the SIM card points toward the left of the phone. Make sure there is no dirt on the metal pins or contact pad on the card before placing it back in the phone. An error message appears on the phone's screen if the SIM card is missing or undetectable because of dirt.
