Instructions

    • 1

Measure the window using measuring tape. If the measurements are wrong, you could end up with a draft or an oversized window frame. Take the width measurement in three different points: top of the window, middle of the window and bottom of the window. Use the smallest measurement when ordering. Take the height measurement in three different points: left of the window, middle of the window and right of the window. Use the smallest measurement when ordering. Specify width first and then height when ordering. If the width of your window is 42 1/3-inches wide and the height of your window is 53 ¼-inches tall, the size of the window is expressed as 42 1/3-by-53 ¼ inches.

Purchase a Polaris Valu-Rite window that fits your window opening dimensions. Each Polaris window is custom-built allowing you to match your specific needs.

    • 3

Set the windowsill into the bottom of the opening and tip the window frame up and into place.

    • 4

Place a level on the windowsill. Shift the window frame left or right, up or down, until it is level.

    • 5

Measure the window so that it is square. Measure the frame from diagonally. Both diagonals should measure within 1/16 inch. If the window isn’t square, readjust until the diagonals match.

    • 6

Hammer the nails of the window frame to the house or building to secure into place.

    • 7

Place weather stripping around the window frame and nail into place using the supplied nails or tacks.

    • 8

Apply caulking to any gaps between the window frame and opening.
