Turn the recliner upside down and inspect the springs on the underside of the chair. If fabric is covering the springs, gently pull back any fabric that is covering the springs.
Bend the popped springs with a pair of pliers to get them back into the same shape as the other springs.
Locate where the popped spring came from on the frame. The springs usually run parallel to one another, so look for a place where there is no spring.
Stretch the spring across the chair to the place on the frame that it was attached. You will probably need someone to hold the spring while you staple it back to the frame.
Staple the end of the spring, approximately 2 to 3 inches from the end, back onto the frame using a heavy-duty stapler. Staple the spring with two or three staples to ensure that it holds. Try not to put the staples in the same place the last ones were.
Staple the fabric back in place, covering the springs.
Turn the chair over and sit in it to test the repair.
