Check for damaged parts before using the propane burner to make sure that they will operate properly and perform their intended functions. Wait one half hour for the stove to cool down before servicing it. Use only identical replacement parts when servicing. Replace any guard or other protective device that was removed while servicing the stove before operating the stove. Get your propane burner serviced regularly by a qualified technician.
Clean all parts in warm, clean water and anti-bacterial soap in order to maintain the stove. Make sure all gas fittings are tight. Check for excessive abrasion or wear, cracks and any other damage.
Place the propane tank on a dry, clean, level surface capable of supporting the stove's weight, the propane tank and the utensils when using the propane stove. Keep the propane tank and propane stove away from other flammable objects.
Check for leaks by making sure the Temperature Control knob on the stove is turned to "Off." Open the propane tank's gas valve and smell and check for gas leaks. Do a bubble test by applying soapy warm water over every joint, fitting, regulator and all other places there may be a leak. Observe to see if the bubbles expand, indicating that there is a leak. Avoid use of the propane stove until leaks have been stopped. Close the gas valve on the propane tank after testing.
