How to Bring Back the Shine on Linoleum Flooring

Linoleum is a versatile and long-lasting floor covering, but it requires regular care to maintain an attractive appearance. Over time daily use wears away the wax coating on its surface, leaving behind small scratches and minimizing shine. It is possible to bring back the shine on linoleum flooring by eliminating accumulated dirt and old wax. Proper care not only improves the flooring's appearance, but also prolongs the life of linoleum.

      Sweep up all loose dirt from the linoleum flooring.

      Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of white vinegar and 1 cup of cream of tartar. Stir the mixture until the cream of tartar dissolves.

      Moisten a scrub brush with the solution and scour the entire floor, using a circular motion.
